According to Section 4¹ of the Law on Gambling and Lotteries, a natural person has the right to request in writing that to be prohibited from gambling in the Republic of Latvia, including interactive gambling, and participate in interactive lotteries and be included in the register of self-excluded persons.

The purpose of the register of self-excluded persons is to protect the public interest and the right of persons to refrain from excessive gambling, including interactive gambling, or participation in interactive lotteries. The prohibition applies to participation in all gambling and interactive lotteries referred to in the law.

The minimum term of prohibition is 12 months from the day when a person is included in the register of self-excluded persons.

The holder of the register of self-denied persons is the Lotteries and Gambling Supervision Inspectorate.

From 1 January 2020, a person may submit a request in person in writing to the Inspectorate, in-person in writing at the gaming venue, using the link available on the interactive gambling and interactive lottery organizers' websites to the inspection website's prohibition request section or remotely using remote electronicall authentication tools.
